Andy BarbinAndrew Barbin

General Manager / Director of Golf

PGA Member A-13

After finishing college as ODAC Collegiate Player of the Year, Andy started his Professional career winning the 1989 AT&T PGA Long Drive Championship with a 338.2 yard drive. He has been ranked in the Top 10 on the Philadelphia PGA Section Money List, and qualified locally for the U.S. Open. On 5/6/02 Andy fired an 8 under par 63 to win the Philadelphia PGA's Multiple Sclerosis Pro-Am.  In July, 2002 Andy played in  the PGA Nationwide Tour Hershey Open.  Andy was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame of his alma mater, Lynchburg College, in the Fall of 2003. 

Andy has competed in the PGA Tour Qualifying School three times. While playing the mini-tours in Florida, Andy gained knowledge from the top teachers in the world including David Leadbetter (#1 coach to the pros) and his associates, Bob Toski (founder of Golf Digest Schools), John Elliot (Head Instructor Golf Digest Schools), John Redman (client Paul Azinger), and Simon Holmes (clients include Ernie Els, Berhard Langer). His Golf Tips have been published in Tee Time Magazine.

PGA Professional Teaching Staff

George Blakeney

George brings nearly 15 years of experience in the golf industry.  He started his golfing career in 1995 at a private, member owned country club and excelled in customer service and retail.  In 1998 he became an assistant manager.  In the year of 2001, George refocused on his golf and became first assistant for a daily fee course in Delaware.  In 2003 he entered the 2003 PGA Apprentice Program.  George joined Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in the fall of 2007.  His approach to the golf swing is uncomplicated and focuses on the basics of the swing and is reviewed by video analysis.

 

 

Justin Cross

Justin began his golf career at a Junior College where he was deemed captain of the team and played in both district and regional qualifiers.  In the year of 2005, he became an assistant golf professional at Geneva Farm Golf Club where he specialized in Junior Clinics and customer relations.  Justin became a PGA Apprentice in the year of 2007 by completing the Player's Ability Test and placing 2nd in a field of 42 golfers.  In 2008, Justin was deemed as the Harford County First Tee Coordinator for youth across the county and state.  "Teaching junior golf is a passion of mine" stated Cross as he excels in teaching concepts and fundamentals of the golf swing.

 

Ed Kahoe

Ed was first introduced to the game of golf when he started working for Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in 2001 as cart staff, but his passion for the game lead him to Orlando, Florida to the San Diego Golf Academy where he played and learned abou the golf industry.  After graduating with a degree in Professional Golf Management and Business Management, he started his love for teaching and playing back at Chesapeake Bay.  Ed has also worked at Bay Hill Golf Resort, Magnolia Plantation Golf Club, and Harbortowne Golf Resort where he was involved with junior academies, club fittings, club repairs, and teaching this great game of golf.

 

Joshua Crowell

Joshua attended Concord High School, located in Concord, North Carolina.  After graduating, he enlisted in the military.  He spent four years at Fort Bragg, North Carolina in the 82nd Airborne Division.  He is also an Operation Enduring Freedom War Veteran.  He later attended the San Diego Golf Academy in Orlando, Florida and earned an Associates degree in Business Management and Professional Golf Management.  He worked as an Assistant Golf Professional for two years at the Wintergreen Resort located near Charlottesville, Virginia.  He was involved with the Golf Academy where he taught and worked with junior development, under the instruction of Sean Taylor (former Head Golf Professional @ Duke University, and Head Professional at the Grand Cypress Resort located south of Orlando, Florida).

Group Instruction

Series of One Hour Sessions designed for the Beginner or Intermediate Player.  Covers Full Swing and Short Game.  Form your own group or we will gladly find an open spot for you.

Classes offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Day/Evening Hours and Saturday before 5 pm.  Instruction starts the 1st week of April and is coordinated throughout the season.

Fee includes any needed Equipment and Range Balls.
