2013 Chesapeake Bay Golf Club League League Rules & Schedule
FORMING A TEAM:· League members may create their own team or be paired into a team. · Each team must have a name that best describes that team. Have fun with the name but keep it clean. · Competitive rounds will begin on Thursday, April 18, 2013 @ Rising Sun Course. · Singles are welcome and Chesapeake Bay GC will do it’s best to pair all entries. ALTERNATE PLAYERS:· Teams are allowed a maximum of two alternate players. · Teams are responsible for getting alternates. · Alternates may be recruited to play for another team. · Teams may have alternate players. Alternate players must have an established handicap and be registered as alternates before the season begins. Designated alternates will pay a reduced fee of $50.00. CBGC management will approve all other substitutions. · All league substitutes must have four 9-hole rounds by the start of competition and two additional 9-hole scores per month or they will play to a scratch (0) Handicap. · All Alternates are invited to the closing Awards Ceremony. · Each team that will require the use of alternates for any particular day must submit the alternates name to the professional staff at the designated course by 5pm Tuesday prior to the Thursday league. · Alternate Players can not play in playoffs COURSE POLICIES:

$25 weekly league fee will
be charged at the designated course Pro Shop. This fee includes greens
fee and cart. All Players including Members and Non Members must
check in to Pro Shop · Nines will be alternated weekly. Unless prior scheduled events and /or outings conflict with weekly rotation. · A prompt Shotgun starts at 5:30 pm every Thursday. (Any teams not on time will be disqualified.) · If play is rained out, scheduled format is cancelled and no points will be awarded for that week. Players will still be able to get a reduced fee for one week to get round in. · Every competition will include prepared scorecards, rules of play for the day and how many points can be won. · Team point totals will be posted each week at both courses. · Scoring will take place each week at conclusion of play on score sheets and posted at the other course prior to play the following week. HOW POINTS ARE AWARDED:· Teams will be awarded points each week according to how they fare in a match play competition. · Weekly point totals will change depending on the format for the week. · All competitions will be based on net scores. HANDICAPPING PLAYERS:· Chesapeake Bay Professional Staff has the right to change a player’s handicap if it is thought to be incorrect. Any Player thought to be falsifying a handicap is up for dismissal from the league with no refund. · Practice Rounds ~ All league members will have playing privileges Monday thru Friday after 2pm and on Weekends after 3pm at the league greens fee rate of $25 for the month of March & April League Players are permitted to play 18 Holes for the $25 rate after the designated time. · All League members including Alternate members will be required to play a minimum of 4 nine-hole practice rounds in the month of March and April to obtain an accurate and current handicap. All nine-hole scores in the month of March and April will be entered twice by the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club Professional staff – If No scores given, then a scratch (0) Handicap will apply until a Handicap can be established. · Weekly league scores will be considered as a tournament round and will be entered twice. League scores will be entered and maintained weekly by Chesapeake Bay Golf Club Professional Staff for accuracy. · All players will be required to post accurate scores for each hole played. · Players MUST post all scores for rounds of golf played outside of the Chesapeake League MATCH PLAY:· Each week will be played in a match play (Team vs. Team) format. · Total points thru August 29th, 2013 will determine the match play brackets starting September 5th 2013. · The winning team in the final match play bracket will be the overall team winner. The runner up places second. The winner between 3rd and 4th place will be the 3rd place overall winner. · Year End Match Play will be head to head competition. Each team will play best ball net score per hole for the Match Play Format If one of the team members is unable to participate in a match, the partner may play his/her own ball net score against the opposing teams best ball net score. RULES:· League Commissioner for this year will be our Golf Professional Brian Mullin · All questions and concerns should be addressed to the League Commissioner · USGA Rules will govern all play (Each player will be provided a USGA rule book) · Teams will alternate play each week between the North East and Rising Sun courses. Course location is subject to change based on advertised schedule. Any change in location will be published on prior weeks rule sheet. · Players are responsible for reading weekly rule sheet. · Weekly pairings will be pre set prior to start of the season to guarantee different pairings each week. Every week, Two Man Teams will be paired with another Team. Each Team will be responsible for keeping the scorecard of the opposing Team players. · Match Play Rules: o In Match Play it will be important to post all players scores per hole in case of ties o In Case of ties between teams, add lowest combine net score per player by using the hardest hole (net score). Team with lowest combine net score will be the winner. · A signature will be required from each Team Representative. ADDITIONAL:· League members will receive discounted group lesson rates. · Winning team will have their team name engraved on the CBGC League Silver Cup Base. APRIL· Practice rounds are played at either course, North East or Rising Sun. · Practice rounds may be played in the month of March and April at the $25.00 rate, after 2:00 pm on weekdays (Monday-Friday) and weekend after 3pm. · April 11 – Meeting / Mandatory Rules and Speed of Play at North East Course (5:30 pm) FORMATS· April 18 – Net Better Ball Partners at Rising Sun Front 9 (Closest to the pin hole 2) worth 1 point · April 25 – Net Better Ball Partners at North East Front 9 (Closest to the pin hole 9) worth 2 points · May 2 – (a vs. a) (b vs. b) and total per team at Rising Sun Back 9 (Fewest Putts on back nine) worth 3 points · May 9 – (a vs. a) (b vs. b) and total per team at North East Back 9 (Straightest Drive 15) worth 3 points · May 16 – Las Vegas Net at Rising Sun Front 9 (Closest to the pin 5 ) worth 2 point · May 23 – Combined Net at North East Front 9 (Longest drive 2) worth 2 points · May 30 – Las Vegas Net at Rising Sun Back 9 (Closest to the pin 13) worth 3 points · June 6 – Combined Net at North East Back 9 (Closest to the pin 18) worth 3 points · June 13 – Scramble at Rising Sun Front 9 (Closest to the pin 2) worth 2 points · June 20 – Scramble at North East Front 9 (Straightest Drive 1) worth 2 points · June 27 – Scramble at Rising Sun Back 9(Closest to the pin 15) worth 3 points · July 11 – Scramble at North East Back 9 (Closest to the pin 16) worth 3 points · July 18 – Net Better Ball Partners at Rising Sun Front 9 ( Longest drive 4) worth 4 points · July 25 – Net Better Ball Partners at North East Front 9 ( Straightest drive 1) worth 4 points · August 1 – Net Better Ball Partners at Rising Sun Back 9 (Fewest Putts Back Nine ) worth 4 points · August 8 – Net Better Ball Partners at North East Back 9 ( Fewest Putts Back Nine) worth 4 points · August 15 – (a vs. a) (b vs. b) and total per team at Rising Sun Front 9 ( Closest to the pin 2 ) worth 5 points · August 22 – (a vs. a) (b vs. b) and total per team at North East Front 9 ( Closest to the pin 9 ) worth 5 points · August 29 – (a vs. a) (b vs. b) and total per team at Rising Sun back 9 ( Closest to the pin 13 ) worth 5 points PLAYOFFS MATCH PLAYSeptember (Top 8 Teams Qualify & are Flighted – Head to Head Competition) (Better Ball of Partners ~ Net Score) · September 5 – Net Better Ball Partners Playoffs Begin (Round 1) at North East@ 5pm · September 12 – Net Better Ball Partners (Round 2) at Rising Sun @ 5pm · September 19 – 3rd and 4th place playoff and Finals for 1st place at North East @ 4:30pm · September 19 (At Completion of Finals) – End of Year Complimentary “Free Pour” Party & Award Presentation * 6:45pm-7:45pm – Beer, Wine & Hors d’oeuvres * 8:00pm – Awards Presentation NOTE: · September 20 -- Rain Date for Finals & 3rd and 4th place playoff at North East League Payouts Payouts will be done by point value in between payout dates. 5/9 first payout for points won between dates 4/18 – 5/9 6/6 second payout for points won between dates 5/16- 6/6 7/11 Third payouts for points won between 6/13 – 7/11 8/8 Fourth payout for points won between 7/18 – 8/8 8/29 Fifth payout for points won between 8/15-8/29 |

2013 Chesapeake Bay Golf Club League TWO PERSON SCRAMBLE· USGA Rules govern all play. · Summer Rules are in effect. · White stakes/painted lines indicate out of bounds. · Red stakes/painted lines indicate lateral water hazards. · Yellow stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Pairings: * Two team players will play together, making up the two person team for the scramble. · Format of Play: Two Man Scramble · On every hole, each member shall hit a tee shot. The group then decides which ball to play. Each member then hits from that position. The hole is then completed by following the same format. · Rules: * Players can move the ball one club length no closer to the hole from the original position. * In moving one club length, ball must stay in the same condition. Example: Ball in the rough, must stay in rough. · In the Event of a Tie: * Teams that tie will split the cumulative points for that week. ALTERNATE SHOT OF TWO PERSON TEAMS· USGA Rules govern all play. · Summer Rules are in effect. · White stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Red stakes/painted lines indicate lateral water hazards. · Yellow stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Pairings: * Teams will be Two Man Teams and paired with another team. · Format of Play: Alternate Shot of Two Man Teams. · Two Man Team Players will alternate shots throughout the nine holes. At the end of the round, teams will add scores together to complete total team 9 hole score. · Each player will tee off, select best drive and alternate in until ball is holed. · In the Event of a Tie: * Teams that tie will split the cumulated points for that week. ONE NET BEST BALL OF TWOSOME/MATCH PLAY· USGA Rules govern all play. · Summer Rules are in effect. · White stakes/painted lines indicate out of bounds. · Red stakes/painted lines indicate lateral water hazards. · Yellow stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Lift clean and place one club length no closer to hole only in your own fairway. · Pairings: * You will be paired with the team you are playing in match play * If you are tied after 9 holes in match play the winner will be determined by a match of cards starting at the first handicap hole – the team with the lowest individual net score will be the winning team. · Format of Play: One Net Best Ball of Twosome and best ball net teams match play. · Each player plays their own ball. Score is determined by the one best net score of each hole. ONE BEST GROSS BALL OF TWOSOME· USGA Rules govern all play. · Summer Rules are in effect. · White stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Red stakes/painted lines indicate lateral water hazards. · Yellow stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Pairings: * Two team players will play together. · Format of Play: One Best Gross Ball of Twosome · Each player plays their own ball. Score is determined by the best gross score of each hole. · In the Event of a Tie: * Teams that tie will split the cumulative points for that week. BEST BALL NET STABLEFORD (CHICAGO)· USGA Rules govern all play. · Summer Rules are in effect. · White stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Red stakes/painted lines indicate lateral water hazards. · Yellow stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Format of Play: Net Stableford (Chicago) · Each player shall play own ball until holed. · Each score is given a point value based on the net score . * Eagle ~ Five Points * Birdies ~ Four points * Par ~ Two points * Bogey ~ One point * Double Bogey ~ No points * Triple Bogey ~ Minus one point · In the Event of a Tie: * Teams that tie will split the cumulative points for that week. TOTAL NET SCORE OF 2 PERSON TEAM· USGA Rules govern all play. · Summer Rules are in effect. · White stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Red stakes/painted lines indicate lateral water hazards. · Yellow stakes/painted lines indicate water hazards. · Pairings: * Two team players will play together. · Format of Play: Total score for 9 holes of both players net score. · Each player plays their own ball and calculates total net score. · In the Event of a Tie: * Teams that tie will split the cumulative points for that week.
